Application procedure:

The involved partner universities propose a document of agreement of the Herbert Quandt Support Program. The pre-selection of the international candidates is made firstly by the appropriate professor of the partner university, who will then forward the selected applications to the Project Group, by 1st March each year, at the latest.

Students at the Technische Univeritšt Dresden should present their requests directly to the Akademisches Auslandsamt TUD. The deadline for the application is 31st December of each year for starting in the Winter Semester of the successive year.

The final selection of the application for a grant is made by the Project Group after approval by the Evaluation Board. The decision about approval/rejection of the application is not contestable, and the applicant cannot take any legal action against the decision.

Applications should be sent in English only if applying for an English study program, and in German if otherwise. The application form can be obtained from the Akademisches Auslandsamt of the TUD.

The application must contain the following data of the applicant:

Amount of Financial Support and Regulations

Students: 425 EUR per month, for 2 years maximum

PhD students or equivalent: 625 EUR per month, for 1 year maximum

Post-docs (till the age of 35): 925 EUR per month, for 1 year maximum

The grants cannot be extended in duration.

To cover the preliminary expenses for housing, each beneficiary of a grant for a stay abroad whose duration is longer than 6 months, receives about 255 EUR. Travelling expenses for the outward journey and back can also be covered by the Herbert Quandt Program.
